A Mental Health Resource for Medical Professionals

ABOUT US

Who We Are

Physician Mental Health was launched in March 2020 with the intention of linking physicians in need of mental health services with their psychiatrists peers who had the availability to see them. To date, we have over 125 psychiatrists listed and cover 47 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico.

WHY WE ARE HERE

What We Do

Physician Mental Health seeks to serve as a centralized network of psychiatrists who are committed to doing their part to improve our physician mental crisis. In addition to linking physicians with psychiatrists for treatment, Physician Mental Health intends to provide information on existing advocacy efforts that are related to physician mental health and be an overall resource for complete physician wellness.

THE DOCTOR WHO STARTED IT ALL

Meet Dr. Nicole Washington

A highly respected physician in her field, Dr Nicole Bernard Washington is a board-certified psychiatrist, speaker, author, and consultant who has always had an affinity towards working with populations who aren’t typically consumers of mental health services including underserved communities, those with severe mental illness and high performing professionals. As Chief Medical Officer and founder of Elocin Psychiatric Services, she provides care to many physicians who are in need of mental health treatment.
At the peak of the pandemic, Dr. Washington saw an increase in the mental health needs of physicians. She was aware of other psychiatrists who could provide those services but quickly realized that there was no single place that a physician in need could go to find a psychiatrist. This was yet another barrier in physicians seeking treatment.  Out of this need, Physician Mental Health was born and she is committed to overseeing the growth of this physician resource.
